So... long time no see for everyone. I just wanted to share this little piece of MOAG heaven with you all... It took me a bit to figure out, and it's not as pretty as i would like but the most important part... IT'S FULLY FUNCTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!! So now... let me explain:
What part of moag is fun but takes FOREVER?... That's right, the Character Creation Process. So I decided a couple days ago to make this process a little easier and less time comsuming, (especially for noobs like me who take forever to make a new character.)
Anywho i made an excel sheet that will automatically calculate your rolls for your attributes and your base and rolls for your skills!!!! WOOT! COMPUTERS MAKE THINGS (and by "things" I mean "us" as human beings) EVEN LAZIER!!!! HURRAY!!
p.s. it even calculates your date of birth :D
Anywho it works like this, you roll for all your attributes then enter them in like normal, from that the rolls will be automatically calculated, after that it will take those rolls and use it to calculate the base for all the skills and your roll for each skill! The only things it will not automatically do are the skill points you put in level (cause you have to roll for those and place them where you like) but it will recalculate the roll once the desired amount of skill points have been allocated. And last it will not calculate Total Hit Points because again that you have to manually roll for, but it will figure out hit points for each body location.
Unfortunately I don't know how to post a file here or else you would all have it right now sooooo.... if anyone does know how please let me know, but i will be giving the file to West when i next see him, and then hopefully you will have access to it sooner or later.
Any questions feel free to ask :) (and please help me figure out how to get the files online!!)

Digitization-ish-ness of goodness... and a little bit of doom.
Anywho the only thing in the title that has anything to do with this post is the word digitization... I had an idea... well it wasn't actually my idea but something that we just kinda brought up one day while playing MOAG, and it's also something that's been bothering me for a while... I AM HUMAN!!!!!!!!! LOL jk..... for real though my problem is that i am fairly new to MOAG... meaning i have played about ten times total and not ten years. I know almost nothing about MOAG besides what has been brought up in the few amazingly fun sessions I have been able to partake in. Basically i have a kind of vague image of the Conar invasion of earth and other small things from the campaign im in but... that's about it.
What I am wanting to suggest is that we start seriously putting all MOAG info into digital form, if Shadowwire permits it, maybe we could go over a different day of the week and have everyone brings their compys or lappys and seriously work on digitizing all the info... if another day is not possible i think it would be cool to take an hour or so and work on it before a session.
I think this would be cool for a couple of reasons, one: There would be no need for the box of death to MOAG, and we could have most of the major info about MOAG on our computers and two: So that noobers like me are not so clueless about... well everything in MOAG. and last: i think this would take a lot off strain of the GM so that he himself does not have to look up every single little thing about everything in MOAG whenever we ask him... also, it would save a lot of time during sessions.
Summed up, i would like if possible to set up a time this next MOAG session for everyone who wants and is able, to make a time to digitize the MOAG. Tell me what you all think! :)

Conar Insignia Revisions
Okay, so here's some revisions on the Conara logo. I really like the middle one. It feels more alien to me. Anyway, let me know what you think.
Also, Siren alert! Team Fortress 2 is on sale for $10 on Steam for a limited time! You really can't beat that. It is as enjoyable as Left 4 Dead. Really. Stop reading this now and go download it. You won't regret it.

Military Insignias - First Pass
Here are two versions of some Military Insignias I came up with for the Conar (the left) and the Gargonan (the right). I was playing around with a Logo for MOAG, and came up with the Conar skull thingy that I thought was pretty cool, and would stand better on it's own, and I came up with the Conar logo. I really like it, and I took some cues from Russian and German military insignias. I think the Conar are a military first society, and their Insignia would reflect the hard line stance. The Gargonan symbol is a mixed bag. I started going for a more eastern style, but it turned out to be more rune like, almost celtic. I do like how it is centerd by the one triangle, representing the one eye of the Holy Gargonan. The text says "Federated Planets of Gargona".
Anyway, there you have it. I'll try to post some more as I come up with them, besides, they're fun to come up with.

MOAG... ONLINE!
Okay. Here's an idea that I think we'll all get behind rather quickly, and will possibly kill two birds with one stone, or possibly 3 stones with one bird, whichever way you want to think about it.
Anyway, here's the idea: We put MOAG online. We start by getting a web site, MOAGtheGame.com is available (we can even pitch in for the yearly fee), anyway, Shadowwire can find the name he wants for it, but it will really help us and here's how. We start by compiling all the rules and whatnot and put them on the site. Therefore, we don't have to print up copies anytime some changes are made, and we can easily add and amend any of the information on the site. I think it will be a cheaper way of getting the "book" out there, and it will be easier for anyone who wants to GM to find and use the information.
Here's the second part of the idea: We build an online version of MOAG. I'm not talking about a MMORPG, although that would be awesome, but a simple, dice rolling game that can be played online, thus allowing groups to "MOAG" only needing a decent internet connection. I've looked into various online simulations of table top RPGs, and most of them are simple forum, post your moves and rolls, type of thing. I'm pretty confident that we have the knowhow amongst us to build something better than that. We can build online character sheets, that are saved on a database, and use a chat mechanism to communicate, which will speed up the forum post method. And bunch of other ideas that we can come up with. And if it really works, it could be something we license and sell and whatnot.
Anyway, I think we do it. It will be very easy to do the first part, and the second part is a challenge that I think we can tackle. What are your thoughts fellow MOAGers?

The Book.
I was just perusing the MOAG archives (we've been doing this for a year and a half!) and stumbled onto the posts from last january discussing "The Book". We were just starting to get interested, and getting some traction on the blog and everyone wanted to start assisting with getting it finished and published, or at least in some sort of bindable form so that other MOAGers could have the book as a resource.
Anyway, I've been thinking that with the recent activity on the blog, the Create-a-creature was a brilliant idea, we should start trying to focus a little more on getting more of the MOAG details hammered out. So I am now making a plea to all the MOAGers out there, as well as a more focused... request to Shadowwire. All of the creatures submitted have been excellent, as has been noted in the comments. Some of them, mainly mine, aren't developed fully as far as skill levels and whatnot. My plea is this: Write up an official species description for your species. One that would be worthy to go in the book. Shadowwire, this is where you come in. If you could post a simple outline as to what a species description needs for the book purposes, that would be very handy. Post your species description up, and we'll start to organize things. Some of the species are very nearly finished, but all could use just a little polish.
Anyway, I'm going to start, in my spare time, doing the layout for the book. If you have any suggestions, post them here.
Let's keep up the good work, and not to jinx it or anything, but we're only a few posts away from our best posting month in our short blog life!
Okay, carry on.

The Gathering Hordes...
So it seams the upswell of social revolution is in full swing here at the MOAG blog. Freemen are coming from the nether parts of various small burgs and villages. Torches and pitchforks are being handed out at every town hall meeting. Name tags are being prepared, t-shirts printed up, documentaries produced, said documentaries are then scrapped due to the writers strike, and so on.
Well that's all and good, but before we start tipping over cars and lighting couches on fire, I have a simple question to ask: Who are we revolting against? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our dear Most Noble Leader Shadowwire has been reading the blog quite avidly lately, and having received a call from his uber-bunker deep in the mountains of Enoch, he has assured me that all the demands will be met. Quite enthusiastically in fact. While he still claims uber-Lordship over the MOAG universe, he is willing to let others share in the burden of composing the Official Book of Official Rules for the Official Game of MOAG and it's Official Guidelines and Rules, or as we like to call it: OBOROGMOGR. But don't worry. I hear that the local grocery store is not going to sell Krispy Kremes anymore, so we can still revolt against them. Can't we?
And now that we've all gathered for some pillaging, here are some brief responses from the previous flurry of blogging. First off, the proposed weekly schedule was just a suggestion. If you need a different day, then simply tell me. I am officially stating that on Monday I will post new art every week. That doesn't mean that I can't post any other day, just that I'll be posting art on monday. So for those of you who have said you will participate, simply tell us which day you want and then get with Mr. Wire and determine a topic. The topics listed in the example post are by no means final, hence the example part.
Also, let's start labeling our posts people. This will enable readers to search through the site and find posts by topic, as well as chronologically. When you are editing a post, simply look at the bottom right of the Edit HTML box and you will see a very convenient text box labeled: "Labels for this post:" Fill in the text box with the topic of your post. Then you can go to the main page and see that the Topics of Discussion are there at the top on the right side of the page, and you can see all of the topics.
And lastly, We all agree that while our game has certain elements that bear a resemblance to certain intellectual properties that do not belong to us. My purpose in bringing this to everyone's attention was not that I thought they had too much of a resemblance, I just wanted to make sure that when we do finally get MOAG out there, there can be no questioning as to the fact that it is all our creation. So maybe we push the differences a little more, just to make it more clear that the Conar are most definitely NOT the predator, even though they may share some similar characteristics.
Okay, now that we're finally done with that, everybody grab your torches, we're gettin' us some donuts!
