Diversity With Balance

Ok, I know it's Friday and this post was supposed to be done yesterday.
I want to open up a discussion for the issue of Gaming Balance.

I know, I know, How do you create a logical balance between the species. I know it is hard, but I believe it is necessary if were going to market this thing successfully. As it sits right now, who in their right mind is going to play a human over any of the other species, particularly the Gargonan and Conar?

Ok, here's what I propose.

We create a BALANCED version, but again, how do you do this while still maintaining the current creation as we see it?

I know that technically we have the will power aptitude diferences, but this is not nearly enough to balance things. Even if we create a seperate "companion" manual for the will-power aspect, we still need to make the balance more complete.

It could be anything from giving humans a stronger aptitude for negotiation, thus giving them the ability to purchase equipment at a lesser cost or to sway the oposite party in any given situation.

We could give the Conar a penalty in that same ability. I don't know. I don't see any "logical" way to limit the physical attributes of any given species, so perhaps we need to think outside the box.

If we choose, we can later create an seperate resource for the game "as we see it."

In any case, People will never accept it as it sits.

Okay, I here by declare this topic *OPEN* for discussion.

Excellent.
lately many people have decided to make Mo-Ti-Qee, or Gorlochs because they have such good attributes, which in turn made me revise some of their attributes.
As far as people not playing a certain species because they're not good enuph, different people play differently. I have one player who realy likes Ucasi. Annother who realy likes Mo-Ti-Qee. Many people like Humans because, well, after all, we are Human. In the same sense some people dont want to be human, they want to be realy strong (Klisk) or realy fast (Gorloch, Conar) or realy smart (Macaneon, Ucasi, Or Mo-Ti-Qee). I spite of the fact that most of the species are not equal in the average totals, Cybernetic enhancements can quickly eliminate the distance between strong and weak, fast and slow, even perceptive and not perceptive. However Reasoning and knowledge are one of those things that cannot be helped by cybernetic implants. (well technically you can get an extra in knowledge with a neural enhancement). Anyway what were we talking about? . . Oh yes. What species somone plays is mostly aesthetic.
And yes, Some discussion needs to be made in this area. Im interested to know what the general concensus is.

One more thing I meant to, but forgot to mention.

This purpose of the first part of this discussion, is to present brief and concise ideas. Please limit the dialogue to necessary information for the purposes of compiling a list and then we can discuss the ideas in greater detail in the next part of the discussion.

Please everybody note their ideas, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. We are not debating at this point.

Also, # the ideas of your idea within the text so we can easily pick them out. ie

1) Cybernetic Implants
2) Adjust the Reasoning of Conar/Gargonan/Gorloch etc.
3) What ever you want to list.
