And they shall be called... Wargutters

The Wargutters rise to an intelligent species is a tale full of horror. A species called Utobiians began to engineer smart pets for the socially elite, whose insatiable appetite for the next new thing hungered for pets that were not of the norm. Anything unique or unusual.
The Wargutters were originally designed for the violent "dog fights" that most Utobiians enjoyed. Genetic Engineers fused the DNA of wild dogs (somewhat similar to the wolves of Earth, only more violent) and that of various Utobiian war criminals. This gave the Wargutters the intelligence for strategic battle and the raw lust for blood that had become so popular on Utobiian late night reality TV.
By the time the Utobiians had realized what they had done, it was too late. Within two decades the Wargutters had destroyed the Utobiians and claimed the civilization as their own.

Physiology
Most adult Wargutters stand well over ten feet when on their hind legs, which they can stand on for extended periods of time. They choose to stay on all four legs as they despise any creature that stands on only two.
The distinct fourth joint on each of their limbs is a trait left over from the Utobiians, which had six joints on each limb. It gives them the ability to strike in most directions.
Their front paws are very agile and can be used to grasp objects much like our own hands. While the rear paws have claws that are used for digging and striking.
The spikes on their head and back are signs of stature, but they will not hesitate to use them in battle.

Culture
The Wargutters will not use their mouths in battle as this is considered very dishonorable. Instead they use the various spikes that protrude from their skulls in a slashing manner. This is where the name Wargutters came from (since they tend to slash at the midsection of bipedal species. Their leaders are usually the ones with the largest, most gnarled spikes. Although they do hold intelligence in high regard (this does not mean they are smart, by any means.) Majority of the time, intelligence is reserved for the Shamans of the tribes, which are the members of the tribal councils and the advisers of the leaders.

Language
Their language is a series of grunts, growls and barks. This and the fact that they have never evolved their civilization is the main reasons that they have never been deemed a sentient species. This also makes it rather difficult for them to learn other languages and for them to use other languages. (Conach would probably be the least difficult for them to learn. Since they can convert there own grunts and growls into the very guttural dialect.)
Also, they do not call themselves Wargutters (since they cannot pronounce it) instead in there own dialect, they call themselves ROVgrriooKxxAba'GoUKxxAbana (pronounced Rofgereeokchaba Goukkchabana) which, loosely translated, means the Conquers of the Bipeds (Utobiians). They call any creature that stands on two legs Utobiians (GoUKxxAbana.)
